“SSI – F Co 425th Infantry” refers to the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI) for Company F, an inactivation unit of the Michigan National Guard, which was originally a “Ranger” company focused on long-range reconnaissance patrol (LRRP). The unit was deactivated on June 12, 2011, and the SSI would depict the griffin patch of the Michigan National Guard, often with an airborne tab and the “Ranger” scroll.
