The 1st Ranger Infantry Company was an all-volunteer unit that served with the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division (2nd ID) in Korea in late 1950 and early 1951, conducting front-line patrols and raids during the Korean War. After being attached to the 2nd ID in December 1950, the company participated in the Battle of the Ch’ongch’on River and the first of the Wonju Battles, suffering casualties and eventually being attached to the 23rd Infantry Regiment.
