The 21st TASS Legacy
Operating OV-10 Broncos and O-2 Skymasters over Southeast Asia, the 21st Tactical Air Support Squadron flew some of the war’s most dangerous missions. Flying low and slow over hostile territory, these forward air controllers coordinated close air support, marked targets, and saved countless lives—often while exposed to Agent Orange defoliant sprayed across the jungle canopy below. Their courage under fire and the long-term health consequences they faced deserve lasting recognition.
