The “X” in “26th Infantry Division X 300” likely refers to the “26th Infantry Division” and its historical association with the liberation of Gusen concentration camp, a subcamp of Mauthausen, on May 5, 1945. The “300” likely refers to the 300th anniversary of the US Army, which was celebrated in 1975.
