The 3rd Battalion, 33rd Armored Regiment, was a tank battalion in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Armored Division, notably active during World War II and the Cold War. In World War II, it fought in major European battles, including engagements in the Battle of the Bulge, and was one of the few units to participate in the major envelopments at Falaise, Mons, and the Ruhr. During the Cold War, the battalion was stationed in Germany, playing a key role in NATO’s forward defense strategy.
