HISTORY
- The M107 175mm self-propelled gun was a long-range weapon used extensively by US forces in the Vietnam War, primarily for interdiction and counter-battery fire against North Vietnamese and Viet Cong targets like command centers and supply routes. Its long range allowed it to out-range enemy guns, while its mobility enabled “shoot and scoot” tactics to avoid counter-battery fire, although it had limitations in accuracy and fire rate compared to other artillery systems. It was a key component of US artillery support, earning nicknames like “Sấm Sét” (“Lightning”) for its immense firepower.
