The 58th Infantry Platoon – Scout Dog was a unit of scout dogs and their handlers in the U.S. Army, primarily serving during the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division. These dogs were trained for dangerous reconnaissance missions, such as detecting ambushes, snipers, enemy hideouts, and weapon caches, providing crucial early warning for patrols and listening posts. The unit was based at locations like Camp Evans and Camp Radcliff.
